tonka
chocolate silver dapple gelding, 36” tall, retired, limited visits
Tonka has been doing therapy work for a few years now. He stands at 36” tall and
is my oldest mini, currently 26 years old. He is super laid back and calm in parades and other events. Tonka loves apples and treats and likes to be taken for walks. He loves meeting children and has a very sweet personality! You will always leave with a smile after you meet Tonka! He is semi-retired now and will only be doing limited visits. We want him to live out his golden years relaxing and playing in the paddock.
banshee
palamino & white pinto mare, 30” tall
Standing at 30” tall, banshee has one bright blue eye and one brown eye. We call her the “flying potato” because even though she is stout and round, she loves to run and is super fast! Banshee loves to eat!! Grass, hay, grain, treats whatever... but we make sure to watch her weight, minis can get fat fast! She loves to get her hair colored and loves wearing sparkly stuff! Total diva for sure but an amazing personality. Banshee loves to take selfies with you so make sure to grab your phone.
peaches
palamino and white pinto dwarf mare, 26” tall, rescue
Peaches is super tiny! She has inherited the dwarf gene which causes her to be
small and stout but that doesn’t stop her from doing big things! Peaches is super sweet and loves green apples! She loves going to the local hair dresser to meet her friends as well as other local shops in-town to say “hi”. Peaches can do short visits only due to her arthritis in her legs, but loves children and people of all ages.
mr. buttons
chocolate dwarf gelding, 26” tall
Mr. Buttons is super tiny like Peaches! We found him at a farm in Louisiana, and
knew he would be a perfect companion for his big sister Peaches! Buttons
also has the genetic disorder dwarfism, but he loves attention and is super friendly. He loves going for walks and meeting new people. Buttons is curious and is always investigating new things! You will fall in love with him the minute
you meet him, because we sure did.
charlie
black and white tobiano pinto gelding, 32” tall, rescue
Charlie is a super sweet boy. His story is very special to us. We got him
as an owner surrender/rescue. This little guy was neglected, skinny,
in poor shape and living alone for over 2 years. Before that he was
passed from owner to owner with no one ever giving him a chance,
until he found us. We knew he would be an amazing therapy horse
just based on his kindness and personality. He is currently doing liberty
training and learning to drive. Charlie is going to be doing great things!
idaho
cremello pinto dwarf gelding, 25” tall, rescue
Idaho was pulled from an auction in Tennessee. With an amazing team of people that helped us, Joshton Dolan, Cella Garro and Jocelyn Gibson,
he is now part of our tiny herd. Idaho loves doing visits and is super affectionate.
He loves meeting new people and snuggles right in with them! Everyone who meets
him is amazed by his crystal blue eyes.
winston
grey dwarf gelding, 26” tall, rescue
Winston is a 2 year old miniature horse that has dwarfism. Going from home to home, auction to auction he finally landed in his forever home with us. With the help of the Peeps Foundation, we were able to get him safely home to MA. He was very sick, covered in lice and almost didn’t survive. But Winston is a fighter! He will be given all the love and care that he deserves and become part of our therapy team! Welcome home Winston!
From auctions to auctions and suffering from neglect and love, Winston is now finally home. Thank you to New England Equine Medical and Surgical Center for saving him and giving him the best medical care.
Stewie Vuitton napping in the sun
stewie vuitton
palamino pinto dwarf gelding, 23” tall, rescue
Stewie is a 4 year old miniature horse that has dwarfism.
We were notified by other rescues and nonprofits that he was in an auction in Ohio. After seeing photos of his legs and hooves we knew we had to drive out and get him. Stewie’s hooves had never been trimmed! He was covered in lice and his teeth had never been floated and he was a stallion. After his arrival we got him into quarantine and started his vet care. Thank you to Dr. Betsy Lordan who is an amazing equine podiatrist, vet and farrier for helping us start correcting his hooves and legs. And to the amazing team at New England Equine Medical and Surgical Center.
Emmett had an amazing kind soul and we loved him so much.
emmett
Rescued 5-21-22 RIP: 4-27-23
silver bay dwarf gelding, 25” tall, rescue
Emmett is a 6 year old miniature horse that has dwarfism.
Emmett was in the same auction in Ohio that Stewie was. We knew he had been in the Cooksville, TN auction 2 weeks prior then lost track of where he went. Sadly once again he was thrown into this auction with all his needs neglected! We tried to coordinate with other rescues and contacts to help get him out but no one could. So we dropped everything and drove out Friday May 20th to get him. Once home, we realized how sick and skinny he was. Emmett has a long road ahead but he is now safe, loved and cared for and will be with us in his forever home.
Sadly Emmett crossed the rainbow bridge on April 27, 2023. We were there with him at the hospital to give him his last act of kindness and love. He had numerous health issues due to years of neglect and the effects from dwarfism. We loved him dearly and miss him everyday.
clarence
bay, dwarf gelding, 21” tall, rescue
Clarence is a 1-year old miniature horse that has dwarfism. Through our amazing contact in Ohio we were notified about his situation and condition. We were lucky enough to get him before he was thrown into an auction. In his short little life, his hooves and legs were already in horrific condition. Once home and quarantined we began the long process of corrective shoeing. Clarence is now enjoying his new friend Emmett and has his own herd to be a part of. We will post his progress and adventures.
oscar our resident mini pig
vietnamese pot belly, rescue
Oscar is a 7 year old pot belly pig we rescued in early 2020. What started out as an adoption quickly turned into a rescue after we saw his condition and health status. He was immediately hospitalized for a week at Tufts Large Animal, in North Grafton, MA suffering from a chronic infection, anemia, collapsed pharynx and malnutrition. After 3 weeks of antibiotics and much love and care, Oscar is on his way to recovery! He has settled into his new home, making new friends with the dogs, cats and minis and loving his new life! He is so happy to be at his forever home and we are so glad he is now part of our family!
